I rented a car via CARFLEXI web site and it destroyed out pleasant trip to Italy for me & my friends.
Upon arrival at the rental company, we were informed that it does not have such cars for which CARFLEXI makes reservations and they have never had such cars.
The staff at the rental was very nice and it was clearly indicated that the fault was CARFLEXI - because they make reservations for vehicles that are not available in this car rental company.
We made several international phone calls to CARFLEXI call center - no one helped us and we became a whole group in a foreign country without a car. We only received good advice over the phone - that we should look for another car rental !!!
Can you imagine how to find an available car for few days at the peak of the tourist season !?
For CARFLEXI - no any problem, right - it's just a client problem !!!
After checking several car rental companies we finally found an available car and of course, when you will rent in this situation - you rent on the terms someone else forces you to. In short, having a credit card and money for a deposit we had to buy more than twice as expensive insurance.
When I came back home I contacted CarFlexi. They shake off any responsibility from their side, and did not agree to refund me on the excess amount I paid - instead, I read lies and childish excuses.
IN MY OPINION : if you don't want to be cheated, you better avoid any business with CARFLEXI !!!

Honestly say, this is very bad and unprofessional service. It destroyed out pleasant trip recently in Gold Coast. We booked the car online and filled all flight information and my contact detail. Because the airline delayed one hour, when we got out airport, there was no shuttle at such. I rang their service by using international toll call for more than one hour. No one answered the phone. They told me the phone transferred to operator and went to a circle. I had to take taxi to hotel. Because I had not used the rental car and I requested refund. This company has no telephone contact and only can get them through email. It is very very slow to response to email. It normally take a few days to get useless answer. And declined my request. Money is one thing and they tried to cheat customer and rip off customer.
PLEASE PLEASE take extremely care when you use their service. It looks save a few dollars, but in the end you can waste more money and time.
This is very unprofessional service. Very disappointed. There is no telephone service. Only can communication through email, very slow responses to email. We never recommend to anyone.
This one star review is based on the service experienced around the rental. I rented a Ferrari 488 Spyder in Florence. The 24 hour rental period and car were fine. The issues are the events around the rental period:
Apex contacted me the night before delivery saying my card was declined, but there were no attempted charges on my card when I called my bank. This caused international charges in additional to time wasted and worry surrounding my plans collapsing. I got a hold of Apex, and they said that the charges can be completed with the rental company (as apex is simply a booking company).
When the car was picked up, the pick up driver was there early and pressured us to give up the rental before the time was up (we wanted to take a quick morning drive). He ultimately agreed to letting us complete our 24 hour period. When doing the final check, we noted marks on the side skirt of the car - rubber markings that easily rubbed off using my finger (similar to rubber markings on a basketball court from shoes). While I was cleaning these off, the man insisted I stop, regardless of the fact that they were all rubbing off. He then took a video as "evidence" of damage. He told me he was going to take the car to get buffed out and confirmed that this will not be filed under damage as he was able to see that the marks rubbed off easily with my fingers. I reluctantly agreed, but he was very pushy. I also did not receive my final paperwork or sign any documents that agree that there were damages.
Also of note, we were going to be 100 km over our prepurchased km. I called apex and confirmed a purchase for the extra km. Days later I receive an email saying there were almost 6K euro in damages and I was almost 200 km over my allotted km. The phone call I made was at 630 am, 2 hours before our pickup to purchase the additional km. I wouldn’t buy only 100 km if I was 200 km over. Additionally, the only evidence they sent regarding the damages were a removed side skirt and the car on a lift. No real evidence of damage (besides the video mentioned above) or of any work being done. Furthermore, the "video evidence" shows additional rubber marks on the door, but no mention of the door needing work, which is curious.
I tried to fix this with Apex who gave me the run around and said they are just the booking company, have nothing to do with the deposit and will to contact the rental company. Weeks passed and no updates. I felt out of options, so I went through my banks claims department.
I filed a claim with my fraud department, hoping they would investigate as to whether any repairs were made. The claims department is only interested in whether the charge was authorized by me. Since the charge (security deposit) was authorized initially, the case was closed and the funds were released on April 4th, 2019. My bank said that discussion would need to happen directly with the company.
Since April, I’ve tried to get a refund of my balance of the security deposit at the least. I have written off the false claims they have made and chalked them up as money I’ll never see again, but the balance of my security deposit should be refunded. It is almost 6 months now since funds have been released. I have inquired many times with apex and the rental company, who keep telling me that the funds have not been released and they will look into it. I email them monthly and get the same reply - “we will look into it and get back to you.” Nobody gets back to me. I send follow up emails that sometimes get responses and sometimes don’t.
I’m concerned I won’t see the balance of my security deposit either. I am writing this review to warn about the way that this company operates. Until I got the car, they were on top of responding. Once this issue started, I felt abandoned by Apex (who should be customer advocates to their rental partners). I chose Apex vs other rental agencies were because they had good ratings and offered the best price but in hindsight I wish I payed more upfront from a more reputable company because I would have saved a lot of headache.
I rented a car via CarFlexi web site. I received the car in the airport in Romania from a rental car company called InterRent. I purchased via CarFlexi web site "Excess Damage Protection" insurance. Part of the overall payment was payed to CarFlexi in their web site, and the rest should be paid at InterRent desk on the day I take the car.
To my surprise, InterRent charged me with a much higher amount than agreed in the contract with CarFlexi. They did not agree to deliver the car at the price agreed with CarFlexi. According to InterRent this is the price of the car, and it does not include any insurance in addition to what I purchased thru CarFlexi.
I didn't have a choice but to pay and take the car.

They said I had to contact them right away, but they don't give you any phone number, and as a tourist who has just landed I didn't even have a local sim card to call them at this point of time.

Returned the car, the lady immediately went over to a very specific spot on the car on got on her hands and knees and advised there was damage. When we picked up the car at 10.30pm with minimal light, we didn't look UNDERNEATH the car, so couldn't prove it wasn't there before. We disputed, lady called over her managed who led me in to an office on my own, and said he could 'put it through his computer and it would cost us £400+ and our premium extra insurance would not cover it e.g. their admin fee was £150 and my insurance would only cover £100'. But i had another option of giving him 50 EUros there and then, and he would write down the car was okay and we would get the extortionate £2000 holding fee I had to pay at the start.
DISGUSTING! DO NOT USE THEM! COWBOYS AND CON MEN!

I wanted to to rent a car without credit-card. They quoted 88:euro for 4 days, fully insured. With the collection of the car, the wanded 60 euro more for "vandalisme damage" I told them to keep the car, I will go to another place. Suddenly the could offer the insurance for 1/2 price. I accepted. I did get a Hyundai atos from at least 10 years old.
Do not borher with them, there are a lot companies where you can rent for the same price, but than a better car.
They collect you from your hotel to their office. ( also bad, if you decide not to rent with them)
The girl in the office is very nice looking.

I booked this company; a dual company with ‘OK Rent a Car’.
The initial hire of the car was very cheap, just €29 plus VAT for six days. I also purchased a ‘compulsory excess waiver’ for €48. ‘So far so good’ I thought. On arriving at the hirer place- (which you are taken to via minibus from the airport). I was told I would have to buy insurance from Amigos because I couldn’t provide a credit card with a high enough limit (£900) on it. This set me back £126. I was then told I would have to pay a deposit of a further £170. Ok, not a problem as yet.
When driving through some incredibly narrow streets in Sóller I briefly looked at a moped getting incredibly close behind me, hit a kerb and damaged the tyre. On the phone to doyouspain.com I was told I could have a replacement car within two hours; as there was only a spacer in the boot; however on discussing this with the operator we decided this would not be feasible because the streets were far too narrow for a tow truck to reach my location. There was no mentioning of cost over the phone and doyouspain.com seemed eager to get the inconvenience over ASAP- great I thought!
I drove the car 45km to the hire place. I was then charged €60 to replace the tyre. I told the sales assistant that I was happy to wait for the car to have a new tyre fitted. ‘No!’ That would not be possible I was made to pay €110 for a replacement car and then told I may or may not get my deposit back at the end of my holiday.
I was handed a sheet of paper with a map of a car I had not yet picked up and was made to sign it as having no blemishes on- I did not know which car I was hiring and ended up with one with several scratches on. (I took photos of all of them before leaving the site). Driving away I was very worried I would not get my deposit back at all and would end up having an argument with the rude and unhelpful staff on returning the car.
All in this has been a very expensive car hire and has caused me, (a solo female traveller) a lot of anguish- I’d almost go as far as to say its actually ruined my holiday! £347!!!! Seriously guys don’t scrimp! Go with Hertz or Enterprise etc surely they won’t cost as much as these!
